FAMILY
PROGRAMMING Zimriyah
Parents are invited to this musical extravaganza, which
is held on a weekday evening during the first month of camp. You'll
love singing your edah songs in the spotlight with your friends and counselors!
Festivale You'll have a blast dancing in this performing
arts festival, held during camp hours during the second month of camp.
CAMPER PROGRAMMING Pre-July 4 Celebration You'll enjoy a special afternoon
of entertainment at this
annual event celebrating America's Independence Day.
Sports Clinics Participate in some or all of three optional sports clinics in
basketball, softball and soccer! These are offered free of charge to children
who are interested in further developing their skills through intensive instruction
and coaching provided by camp sports instructors and outside sports professionals.
Tzedakah
and
Tikkun Olam Projects
Whether it's raising money by participating in a swim-a-thon,
packing food at an area food bank or performing mitzvot around camp, you'll feel
good about taking part in activities that promote Jewish values.
Weekly Ongei
Shabbat Every Friday to end the camp day, our Ongei Shabbat are the perfect
way to begin the Sabbath. Together with your entire edah, you'll sing beautiful
Shabbat
melodies and see a new and special performing arts presentation weekly.
Maccabiah You'll
become an honorary citizen of another country for Maccabiah, where the spirit
of international cooperation can be felt throughout the day in good-natured
competition in sports, trivia and ruach (spirit).
Yom Yisrael
Planned by our
mishlachat (staff from Israel), this day magically transforms Ramah Nyack into
Eretz Yisrael. In a full day of Israel-themed activities, you'll experience Israel's
culture, history and geography.
Carnivale At this cultural arts festival, you'll enjoy carnival food and games,
along with creative crafts and music activities planned by Ramah's talented team
of specialists.
Yomei M'yuchad ('theme' days) Several times throughout the
camp season, your counselors will plan special days that incorporate Jewish values
and creative
theme-related activities (e.g., Yom Kosher Candyland, Yom Mitachat Layam 'Under
the Sea').
Undernights If you're entering kindergarten through 3rd grade, you'll go
on
a fun out-of-camp trip with your edah, then come back to camp for a late afternoon
swim, surprise early evening activities, and dinner with your friends before
heading home on your regular bus or carpool. Overnights If you're entering 4th
or 5th grade, your edah's day trip will continue with an overnight stay at Ramah,
complete with movies, a special Rocky Teva Toast breakfast, and lots of fun!
If you're entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grades, you'll have a one-or two-night overnight
at a specially chosen destination outside of camp!
